Women of Malindi
Our most recent and re-occurring giveaway has been to the women of Malindi. Malindi is a town on the southeast coast of Kenya in Africa. Many of the women in this town have never owned beauty products of their own so it was an absolute joy seeing their smiles when they received a full bag of goodies for themselves. One of the women even used her new eyeliner to draw on their traditional face paint.
Former Foster Youth
Our third give away was to the mother's and daughters of A Sense of Home. ASOH provides "first-ever homes for youth aging out of the foster care system." Many of those aging out of the foster care system have never had a home to call their own and have children of their own. We had the opportunity to leave a beauty box in their fully-furnished homes. And if the recipient had a daughter, we left her her very own beauty box as well!
Human Trafficking Survivors
Our second giveaway was to 30 incredible girls who have survived human trafficking. For this giveaway we partnered with A21, an anti-human trafficking organization. Modern day slavery is an evil and heartbreaking reality that is still very prevalent today. The girls with A21 have gone through horrific circumstances, and it was truly an honor to send beauty boxes and prayers to these incredible survivors.
Pregnant Women & Mothers
Our very first giveaway was to women living at the Elizabeth House. This organization is a place for pregnant women and mothers of small children to have a safe and warm home. These women have fought against many life challenges such as homelessness. Our hope through these beauty boxes was to be a small gift of encouragement as they continue the journey of building a better life for them & their families.
